I had a pretty fun mothers day, but there was one thing missing. I wasn’t able to be with the best mother to be, my wife. Of course I want to take a moment and say happy mothers day to my expecting wife. I love you Steph and I know you will be a great mother.

We started today with church and welcoming Steph’s uncle from Morocco. His family is due to move back to the states in about two months I believe. So he will be spending time looking for a home here in the twin cities. So we enjoyed church and headed to a great restaurant called Good Earth. I have been there several times and I really enjoy the food. We had great conversation and it was as always fun to hang out with Steph’s family. Sorry you couldn’t be here hunny.

I finished the evening with some yard work. It was a good way to work of the food that I had enjoyed too much. I worked up a little sweat then shot some baskets. I think I hit at least 50 in a row. The sucky part is that no one was there to see it.

Well I’m going to relax and watch Sunday Night Baseball. Tomorrow is a big day, not for me. The Barnards will hopefully find out the sex of their baby. If it is a boy, there is something in the St Louis water. If it is a girl, they could make a killing setting up an arranged marriage cause everyone else is having a boy. My dad and I decided to spend the day in southern MN trout fishing. We have done this twice before but today we wanted to find a new creek in a new area. Dad had done quite a bit of research with the maps and had some areas picked out. All the preparing in the world does no good if there is no water in the creek. We drove around to four or five creeks only to find them unfishable.

On try number six we finally found an area to catch some trout, or so we thought. In the first five minutes Dad nailed one.

We walked up-stream another mile at least and then back down to where we started. Catching nothing, but enjoying conversation. What struck me as the weird part of the day was the weather. One minute it was sunny, then next cloudy. Then the next minute it would be icing. The ice looked like sea salt with a little more size to it. Do you remember that time back in May of 2010 when it was icing while we were trout fishing? Sure do. It was the same year I got stuck in Berlin because a volcano erupted and shut down air traffic.

We continued on to another creek were Dad pulled in a small trout. As for me, the trout hate me. I think every time I get to go hunting or fishing God reminds me that those are not areas He has chosen for me to provide. At one time I spotted two trout right next to each other under a log. I positioned the worm practically on their mouth’s, and still nothing. However I enjoy being outdoors and enjoying the beauty of this land.

I spent the morning in great conversation with my father-in-law. We are reading a book together and so this morning we discussed the chapters we have read this past week. The book is very well written and it is nice to read it with someone and be able to reflect on it. I think if I read it alone I might have just quickly read through it and missed some of the message. The message is finding your gifts and aligning them with you vocation.

Then Chris my brother-in-law and I went out for lunch. We went to this little bakery called Minnesota Bread Co. and it is way better than the more famous bread co. It was super cheap and had the best bread and sweets. We then went to Gander Mountain and looked around. It is always fun to hang out with him.

I was able to spend the afternoon alone and in quit. I took an amazing nap and was able to get some things checked off my to do list. I spent the evening in front of the TV. Like I said at the beginning it was a relaxing day for me. So that has been my day. I need to get up early and head south with my dad to do some trout fishing. I stated yesterday that today I would have class, and I did. Since I am done with the required book work for the apprenticeship and at class is where we review and test on the books, our classes are reserved for review. The program as implemented a test that has four parts to it and is to a degree similar to the test we take to get our journeyman status. The four parts are first aid, math, transformer hook ups, and circuitry. I averaged a 94% on my test. Which isn’t too bad. I’m happy with that. The rest of the class we spent climbing poles and reviewing transformer hook ups. I must say that it was good to get my hooks back on and do a little climbing.

I finished the evening by getting a hair cut and relaxing on the couch. Tomorrow could hold that same out look. I have a “to do” list but I’m not sure I will get to it. I need a day to relax. Well that is all I have for the night. Enjoy your Friday. Thanks All.

I stole candy from a baby today. No not literally but figuratively. At work I performed little to no work to speak of. I wish I could share with you what my schedule looked like for the day, but when I was hired I signed a letter stating that I would not share confidential information. Sorry, but I made a promise.

I must complain about the weather because it only seems fair at this moment. I think it may have snowed here today. If it didn’t I know it rained for sure and I was wearing a jacket the entire day on cinco de mayo. It was cold and wet. Nasty MN weather. These next two days don’t look any better. But when I go trout fishing on Saturday it should be nice.

Work can consume you when it is 5 days a week 10 hour days. The job I am working on is not that complicated and the next week and a half will be a drag. There isn’t much work and staying busy has been tough already. Needless to say I’m bored with this job. It does however pay well and a paycheck is great right now.

I was able to Skype with my wife tonight, and I wanted to share two things about it. One Skype is pretty cool. Two my wife is amazingly beautiful. It was great to see her, and of course my son. The kid is growing so fast and Steph makes being pregnant look awesome.

I know my blog has been kinda lame lately, but I have a lot on my mind recently. I promise that when my head is able to clear, my postings will be better. I enjoy sharing my head and heart with those few readers. Well it is time for bed. Twins are in a close game. Thanks All.

Oh nastiness of the day: I found two wood ticks today. One on daisy and one on the ground were daisy had just walked. I hate wood ticks and made sure I did a thorough check of myself. Nasty.

I woke up early and went to church, the early service. I really enjoyed the sermon this morning. I would have to say that it was one of the best sermons that I have ever heard. It had so many different aspects to it, but was wrapped together well. I felt like the message really spoke to me personally. If anyone is interested I can post a link so that you may listen to it. I also plan to download it and listen to it one more time as well.

After church I came back to the Scott’s where I am stay and had lunch. They decided to sell their above ground pool and the guy purchasing it came today to get it. Of course being the great son-in-law I was available to help. It was hard work but worth it to help this gentleman set himself up for many memories with his family. Just has I have many memories it that same pool with my family. It took us a while to get everything taken apart and loaded into the truck, but we made do. Now there is a big hole in the yard. Some of the pool was below ground level and they will need to fill it in. Guess who will be available to help?

I finished the evening with some TV and internet. I have a fascination with googling everything you can think of. I know it’s weird but I don’t think it is unhealthy at this point.
